Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
Hotel Du Vin Exeter is often praised for its beautiful and spacious rooms, some even featuring an extra bath. The swimming pool and well-kept garden add to the appeal, while the hotel's convenient central location and on-site parking (though pre-booking is needed and it costs £20 a night) are frequently mentioned as highlights. Some guests have found the dinner options disappointing, particularly with the availability of certain meat dishes. However, the good breakfast and the option to book spa treatments help ensure an enjoyable stay.

amazing staff attentive staff
I found the reception staff amazing. breakfast staff were attentive as well. I felt very well looked after. staff were accommodating concerning my son's allergies, going above and beyond to check everything was safe.
Parking was very limited. Public parking close by proved expensive.

unavailable dishes cool steak
The dinner I had was disappointing. The main course meat dishes were mostly unavailable. I chose the "chateaubriand" with a surcharge, though the plates were warm and became cold quickly. The steak was cool, and the dessert was over-microwaved. On checkout, I refused to pay the parking fee because there was no sign of the "complimentary glass of champagne" promised.

underwhelming experience

cramped bathroom slow service
the breakfast was decent enough, with a reasonable variety of options.
my 'beautiful room' felt more like a standard shoebox. the bathroom was so cramped the towel rail practically sat in the sink. the shower controls being miles away from the showerhead was a comedy of errors. the slow service at the bistro made dinner drag on forever.
